On the eve of the year-end holidays, the Miami Youth Group held car wash fundraising events over two consecutive weekends at the temple. More than a dozen young members braved the sun and physical fatigue, working together to wash the cars of the uncles and aunties who came to participate in group cultivation, leaving each vehicle looking clean and refreshed. Through their concrete actions, they added warmth and festive cheer to the holiday season. This event was entirely initiated and planned by the youth themselves, demonstrating a commendable spirit of independence and responsibility.

At the event site, the youth worked with clear division of tasks and seamless coordination. Some were responsible for moving vehicles, others washed the car bodies, some focused on cleaning the wheels in detail, while others handled rinsing with hoses and final drying. Over just two weekends, they worked together to clean more than twenty vehicles. As each sparkling car drove out of the parking lot, the youths’ faces reflected not only a sense of accomplishment, but also the joy of contributing to their team.

The uncles and aunties who came to participate in group cultivation also showed their support through action, generously donating to the youth group and encouraging them to continue striving in the development of group activities. They expressed hopes that the youth would go out more, participate actively in events, and build positive connections. Many elders praised the youth group for being self-reliant and willing to raise funds for future activities through their own efforts, demonstrating maturity and a proactive attitude.

Venerable Neng Kang, the guiding Dharma master, also offered special encouragement to the youth group, suggesting that the funds raised be used as travel expenses for attending activities at the main monastery next year. This would help ease the financial burden on parents while symbolizing the youths’ ability to achieve growth and learning through their own efforts. This activity was not only an act of service, but also an opportunity for growth—putting responsibility into practice, strengthening team coordination, and cultivating independence.

Through this car wash fundraiser, the Miami Youth Group proved through action that as long as there is sincere intention and effort, even small strength can accumulate into an important force that drives the group forward. Everyone firmly believes that by maintaining this spirit of initiative and enthusiasm, the youth group will be able to organize more meaningful activities in the coming year and continue to shine brightly along the path of learning and service.
