Buddha’s Light International Association Miami Chapter (BLIA Miami)

Established on May 16, 1992, headquartered in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Buddha’s Light International Association is a global Buddhist organization. Currently, BLIA has more than one million members, and more than 170 chapters, across 60 counties on 5 continents.

In response to the needs of the local Buddhist community in 1994, Venerable Master Hsing Yun and his disciples personally visited and taught Dharma in South Florida. Fo Guang Shan Miami Temple was formally established in Tamarac, Florida, in 2003, focusing on the teaching and practicing of Humanistic Buddhism. To further assist the strengthening of the South Florida Buddhist community, BLIA Miami Chapter was established at the same time.

For more than 10 years, BLIA Miami Chapter has diligently upheld the teachings of the Buddha and the Triple Gem. The Chapter vows to serve the South Florida community by carrying out the Four Principles of Fo Guang Shan, which are: Nurturing Talents Through Education, Propagating the Dharma Through Culture, Benefiting Society Through Charity, and Purifying Our Minds Through Cultivation.

The members of BLIA Miami Chapter are devoted to bringing peace to the world by practicing BLIA’s core values of the Four Givings: Give Confidence to Others, Give Joy to Others, Give Hope to Others, and Give Convenience to Others. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact us.
