Mother's Day is a time to express love and gratitude for the selfless dedication of mothers and to strengthen family bonds. To give hardworking mothers a joyful and relaxing celebration, the Miami Association hosted the event "The Taste of Love – Fathers Cooking for Mothers" on May 12 at the temple. Dedicated male volunteers (referred to as "Vajras") took the initiative to cook lunch and manage incense offerings during the Dharma service, allowing mothers to fully participate in the spiritual practice without any concerns.
To make this Mother’s Day truly special, the Vajras put in their best effort, preparing unique and flavorful dishes. International Buddha’s Light Association (BLIA) Dharma Lecturer Hao Le Wei prepared a delicious pasta dish, Supervisor Zhao Guanglong personally cooked a flavorful Luohan vegetarian dish, and Association President Mei Hanzheng showcased his signature herbal papaya soup. Each volunteer offered their culinary expertise with a heart full of gratitude, creating a collective feast to honor the hard work and love of all the mothers present.
Nearly 60 participants gathered in front of the Buddha to recite "A Prayer for Mothers" by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the founding patriarch of Fo Guang Shan. Following the recitation, BLIA youth members, led by senior coordinators, presented flowers to the mothers in appreciation of their love and dedication, wishing them a happy Mother’s Day. The mothers were deeply touched as they held the heartfelt roses in their hands.
Additionally, President Wu Guolian of the Miami An Liang Chamber of Commerce led nearly 20 founding members to participate in the Dharma service. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day together, highlighting the close relationship between the An Liang Chamber of Commerce and the Miami BLIA Association. He also praised Miami Fo Guang Shan for spreading the Dharma within the local community, benefiting many people.
